“YOU GET MORE BEES WITH HONEY THAN YOU DO WITH VINEGAR”!
Simply put, if you treat people fairly, in a positive and motivating way and with respect, you will receive greater and more accurate output from them.
Yelling, screaming or putting people down tend to make them want to “get back” at you, or the company, by slowing production, making mistakes or just slacking off.
In the Franklin-Covey seminar, FOCUS, we speak about “Feeding the Hog”. In brief it means taking out frustrations on the company by increasing waste which decreases profitability.
In todays competitive world, we cannot afford to diminish our profits any more than regulation, taxes and operating expenses already erode them.
Be nice to your employees, your peers and your bosses and it will pay-off in better productivity and, in the end, higher profits.
Remember, “You get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar”.
