“ GET BACK TO BASICS”
This term is often used when a business is not succeeding as well as it did in previous times. In my career with large franchise organizations, it never fails that a franchisee often times tries to ‘out-smart’ the system that made that company successful to begin with. They think they have a better way and, ultimately get into trouble.
My take on this is never get away from the basics to begin with!
Now that’s not to say “stifle your creativity or entrepreneurism” but rather use those skills to enhance your basic operations systems not change for change sake. And then, if you enhance a part of your business, test it in a small way. If it isn’t giving you the results you wanted, be quick to get rid of that change and Get Back to Basics!
